Construction workers in Australia face one of the highest suicide rates among professions, with over 200 lives lost each year. To help address this issue, CPB Contractors has partnered with social impact PPE brand TradeMutt to create custom-patterned workwear and is launching it with Australia's Largest Funky Shirt Friday.
Launching on Friday 23 February, workers across CPB Contractors' more than 60 sites, plant yards and offices will wear their brightest workwear to help start conversations about mental health.
CPB Contractors is the largest contractor in Australia to partner with TradeMutt on a national scale, creating custom-designed PPE workwear, reminding people that help is only a conversation away.
Each shirt features a funky take on the CPB Contractors logo, and has a striking This Is A Conversation Starter (TIACS) message on the back with a QR code located under pocket flap linking directly to TIACS’ free counselling services.
CPB Contractors’ new PPE is set to broaden awareness of TIACS’ services to countless more workers.
“Safety is our highest priority at CPB Contractors, and this partnership will expand access to free mental health services, reaching the thousands of suppliers, trade partners and subcontractors that work on our sites each day,” says Sarah O’Neill, Executive General Manager People and Culture.
CPB Contractors has more than 120 Mental Health first aiders across its projects, sites and offices and support services to all employees and their immediate families through a free, voluntary and confidential Employee Assistance Program as part of the CIMIC Group.
TIACS is a free service that can be accessed by anyone. They are accessible via SMS or phone call at 0488 846 988 Monday – Friday from 8am to 10pm AEST.
