Our project environmental management plans integrate biodiversity management plans to protect, conserve, or restore biodiversity and ecosystems. 

These plans manage and mitigate impacts and consider local contexts, baseline surveys, monitoring results and specialist advice. 

Where impacting habitats is unavoidable, strategies are developed to minimise disturbance while safely and efficiently completing works. 

Rehabilitation of disturbed areas remains an integral element of biodiversity management.

How UGL is protecting koalas

UGL’s site based environmental advisors coordinate a team of fauna spotter catchers who are tasked with ensuring all habitat is checked for wildlife prior to any disturbance being undertaken. The koala is just one of more than 100 individual animals that have been located on the Genex Kidston Connection project so far.

Leighton Asia rehabilitates 10000 sqm of mangrove forest in Indonesia

Our team at the Tangguh LNG project has completed the initial rehabilitation and revegetation of a 10,000 sqm of mangrove forest in West Papua, Indonesia. Mangrove forest plays an important role in the coastal ecosystem, serving as buffer between marine and terrestrial communities, and a habitat for a diverse array of fauna.
